I made a bizarre discovery last night, apart from the realisation that there were no organised fireworks on July 4th, because they'd all been organised for Saturday July 1st.
In Virginia, you can't butyfireworks that leave the ground. That means you can't buy rockets or other fireworks that send things upwards. Of course, it is considered very safe to buy a semi automatic weapon on the internet with no legal checks whatsoever.
Fucked up country. Fucked up political system.

Spent my first 4th July in the states yesterday. Went to a country music festival in Florida. Watched The Oak Ridge Boys then some fireworks. It was pretty good, but my favourite part was when everybody spoke to a flag then sung happy birthday to a country. Definitely an experience!

The place would be like Canada if they had kept us which I think is a good thing.
Facts why we lost
1. we were too nice and never degraded ourselves to their dirty tactics. I guess we didn't want to totally alienate bringing them back in the fold
2. Massive help from the French otherwise they would have lost.
